Edward Donald Wendeln, age 74, of Kettering, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was born on August 21, 1951, the first of nine children born to Donald Edward Wendeln and Lavine Hamberg Wendeln. His loss is mourned by his eight siblings, their spouses, and his numerous nieces and nephews. The siblings are Diane Wendeln Schulte, Mary Wendeln Seibel, Janet Wendeln (Steve Hugenberg), John Wendeln (Sally), Judith Wendeln Miller (Michael), Donna Wendeln Bange (Joseph), Michael Wendeln (Natalya), and Karen Wendeln Sparling (Paul).
Ed graduated from Alter High School and from the University of Dayton. He served in the U.S. Army and Army reserves in the 1970’s. Ed’s career took him to Chicago, a city he greatly loved, until he returned to Kettering to be closer to family. Ed was a loved and active member of the Wendeln family. As his parents aged, Ed was always there to assist with their needs.
Private Funeral Mass and Burial will be held by the family.
