Edwin "Pete" Harper

Edwin “Pete” Harper, born April 19, 1930 in West Liberty, KY departed from this life on April 3, 2018 at Heartland of Kettering. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of The Korean War. He was retired from Lewis & Michael Moving and Storage after 50 years of service. He was also employed at Planes Moving and Storage for 10 years after retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Hortense Harper and sons, Dallas Harper, Joe Futrell and Larry Spradlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Harper; sons, Harold (Donna) Futrell, Earl (Sharon) Futrell, Bobby Spradlin and Gary Spradlin; daughters, Joyce (Mark) Howley and Diane Lowe; numerous grand-daughters; one special grandson, David Futrell and many great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 12pm at Tobias Funeral Home- Belmont Chapel- 648 Watervliet Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420. Friends may call from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will take place at 11am, April 17th, 2018 at The Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428.

My deepest sympathy to Pete's family and friends. I worked with Pete at Lewis & Michael for more than 30 years and he was my all-time favorite driver. I was so very sorry to learn of his passing.
