Elizabeth Dybvig

Elizabeth Harner Dybvig (Betty) passed away on September 24, 2011 in Kettering Memorial Hospital in Kettering , Ohio . Born in Dayton , Ohio on September 16, 1931 to Dr. Merl W. and Ruth P. Harner, she attended Fairview High School in Dayton and graduated from Brookville High School in Brookville , Ohio . She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music Education from Otterbein College in Westerville , Ohio . After her children graduated from high school, Betty attended Sinclair Community College . Within a short time, she joined Sinclair's Tutorial Services staff and eventually held the position of Tutorial Services Coordinator. Upon retiring in June 2001, she moved to St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community, where she found friendship, community, and the opportunity to contribute her copious computer skills.

Betty was predeceased by her sister LoRean (Bunny) Hummel of Newark, DE. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Studer of Cleveland, OH and Linda Pendell of Black Mountain, NC; her children Dr. Philip H. Dybvig of St. Louis , MO , Dr. Teresa Dybvig of Stony Brook , NY , and Dr. R. Kent Dybvig of Bloomington, IN; and her grandchildren Dr. Megan Zahniser, P. Jordan Dybvig, Shannon Dybvig, Ross Dybvig, Keith Dybvig, Melanie Kambadur, and Eric Dybvig.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Elizabeth ’s name to the St. Leonard Foundation, 8100 Clyo Rd. , Centerville , OH 45458 .
