With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Garner, affectionately known as Libby, who went in peace with God surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 9th, 1937, she graced this world with her unique blend of kindness, strength, and joy for 87 years before her departure on February 10th, 2024. Elizabeth was a nurturer, a beacon of love who left significant imprints on the hearts of many.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving sons, Timothy Wells and David Wells, whom she raised with unfaltering love and wisdom. Her family extends to her step-son, Rodney Garner, and her cherished daughter-in-laws, Melissa Kohr and Ann Garner, and her step-sister, Tanya Garner. Her memory will further live on in her granddaughter, Lindsey Hemmelgarn, with husband Craig Hemmelgarn. Elizabeth's great grandchildren, Parker and Taylor Hemmelgarn will always hold a special place in their hearts for 'Grammie". Her memory will also carry on with her grandson Benjamin Garner, who adored her greatly. Elizabeth was predeceased by her adoring husband, Kenneth Garner, and her precious daughter, Sandra Wells, and two beloved granddaughters, Chelsey Wells and Ellen Garner. Despite the sorrow in their absence, Elizabeth's strength and spirit never dwindled. Known best for her kindness, strong minded spirit, and love, Elizabeth had a zest for life that expressed itself in one of her favorite pastimes, shopping. Above all, her greatest accomplishment was the loving family that she raised. The lessons she shared will be forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy, centered on family and friends, is a testament to the love she poured into her relationships and the indelible impact she made. A funeral service to honor Elizabeth's life will take place on February 22, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am-11:00 am, immediately followed by a funeral service at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, and procession to David Cemetery. As we gather to remember Elizabeth, we hold dear the love she freely shared, the joy she brought to our lives, and the unforgettable memories that we created together. Elizabeth was a beacon of unabating love and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
