

LINGG, Elizabeth R. “Betty” (Helmer), age 92 of Kettering, took her final journey to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 6, 2016. She enjoyed traveling and the highlight of her travels was a cruise to Alaska with her daughters, for her 82nd birthday. She is survived by her children, Barbara Varine, Jeanne (Randy) Hughes, Patty Kasse (fiancée Tony Gudorf), Don (Ruth)Lingg, Cindy (Earl) Moore, and Pam Daniels; nephew, Charles Akerland (Rick Cohn); grandchildren, Mark (Janine), Kelly, Bill, Judi, Jay (Alice), Brad (Britany), Kris (Scott), Wayne (Angi), Lt. Cmdr Erek (Cora), Dana (Paul), Monica (Ronny), Desta (Sammy), Dr. John (Julie), Jennifer (James), Jeff (Amy), and Janel; 34 great grandchildren; also many other relatives. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav & Elizabeth Akerland; brother, Col. Gustav Akerland & Ida Akerland; sister, Marjorie (Rusty) Akerland; husband, Donald J. Lingg; nephew, Trey Akerland. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Patterson Co-Op. She retired from TWA in Vandalia a secretary to the General Manager. She was a member of Greenmont Oak Park Church, volunteered at Kettering Memorial Hospital for many years and a Co-Facilitator of the Alzheimers Support Group at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, member of Kettering Suburban Senior Citizens.
