Elizabeth K. Swisher

Swisher, Elizabeth K., age 73 of Beavercreek, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denny R. Swisher in 1995. She is survived by four sons: Joel and wife Anne Swisher of Maineville, Andrew Swisher of Mississippi, Benjamin and wife Kelli Swisher of Beavercreek and Matt Swisher of Beavercreek. Seven grandchildren also survive her: Hannah, Claire, Joseph, Caleb, Mary, Carson and Chloe Grace. A sister, Ann Milton of Pennsylvania also survives her, as do two sisters-in-law: Ann McBride of Illinois and Nancy Busch of Pennsylvania. Elizabeth was a very active volunteer, spending many hours working for the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir as well as for the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus. She was a graphic artist and illustrated a great amount of children’s literature in the course of her career. Elizabeth also belonged to the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors and participated in local art shows. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd. on Friday evening, September 7 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd, Dayton, OH 45406 at 2 PM with Rev. Sherry Gale officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 in Elizabeth’s memory.
