Ellis “Tood” Carver passed away on June 26, 2018 at age 86. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of four decades, Patricia “Patty”(Boggs) Carver. Ellis was born in New Boston, Ohio, on July 30th (or 31st), 1931 (Ellis and Patty moved to Dayton, Ohio, in the late 1950s and welcomed three children, Tamela (Tami), Todd (the perfect child), and Tony (the Truth) Carver. Ellis was a loyal and dedicated employee of Dayton Coke-a-Cola for over 30 years before he retired. Ellis’s greatest joy was spending time with the family that he and Patty created. He also liked to garden, fish and hunt. He was a down-home chef, whose cornbread, chicken and dumplings, and apple butter were unmatched. He was a storyteller, who passed on memories, tales, and the occasional dirty joke, to the generations that followed. He was a romantic, whose love for his soul mate, Patty, endured even long after she passed. He taught his family how to eat, laugh, and love and will missed by all. He is also preceded in death by his parents George and Virginia (Bloomfield - Belford) Carver, brothers Charles and Raymond, step-father Charles Belford and numerous half- and step-siblings.
Ellis is survived by his daughter Tami Graham and son-in-law Sam of Cedarville, son Todd and daughter-in-law Teri of Dayton and Denver, and son Tony and daughter-in-law Ann of Beavercreek. Also, granddaughters: Tara (with Jay) Pandiscia, who are gypsies and live in a van; Brittany (with Brian) Johnson of Seattle; Tiffany (with Adam) Brun of Centerville; and, Dr. Trisha Marshall (with Dr. Robert Tracy) of Cincinnati. Grandsons: Tyler (with Alexis); Lance (with Lauren); and, Jeremy (with Morgan). Step-grandchildren Edwin Starling, Aimee Boldman, Jackie Darnell, Emma (Darnell) Fischgrund and Connor Darnell. Great-grandchildren Charles, Jackson and Hannah Brun, Braxton Carver, Logan Johnson and Scarlett Carver. And, beloved Chihuahua companion-dog Happy. A visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT CHAPEL followed by a funeral service at 1pm.
