

TOMPKINS, Elmer Wm. “Bill” Sr., age 81 of Beavercreek, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Dayspring Nursing Home. Bill was born on November 4, 1929 in Dayton, OH. He is preceded in death by his mother, Broma Tompkins; his father, Elmer Tompkins; brother in-law, Jerry Elking. Bill is survived by his loving wife Doris of 61 years, a daughter Debbie; a son, Elmer Wm. Tompkins Jr., a sister, Joyce Elking, and many cousins and friends. Bill worked at NCR for 25 years, Lorenz Publishing, Ohio Printing, Malone’s Camera Store for short periods and Wright State University for 32 years from which he retired. He was the owner operator of B&D Printing. The family wishes to thank the staff of Dayspring Nursing Home for the excellent care while he was there. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. with Rev. Linda Niece officiating. Entombment to follow in David’s Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 27.
