

Emily Jean Dopf, age 96 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born on November 22, 1928, in Xenia, to Frederick and Margaret Smith. She graduated from Patterson CO-OP High School in 1946. Emily Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She never missed a birthday and visited with family often. She loved her puzzle books and in her younger days liked to travel, camp and fish. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Charles Lowery and George Dopf, two sons, Michael Lowery and Douglas Lowery, two grandchildren Jeffery Lowery and Corey Shellow and a sister, Patricia Koors. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Shellow and daughters-in-law Deborrah Lowery and Theresa Lowery, grandchildren: Mia, Jeremy (Taya), Michael (Angela), Michelle (Chris) Shellow, Scott (Christa), Christopher, and Greg Lowery. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Calvary Cemetery. Please meet at Tobias Funeral Home on Watervliet Ave. at 12:30 for a procession to the cemetery.
