Emily Rachel Scholes, age 48 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Kettering Hospital following a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Amy Johnson and bonus dad Randall Freels of Dayton, her partner, Jimmy D. Hamilton, three brothers: Jim Scholes, Rob Scholes and Curtis Freels, and a host of other family members and friends. She is also survived by her beloved cats: Puss-puss, Elton, Freddie and Bowie. She was preceded in death by her father, James Scholes, and grandparents Virginia Barnhart-Henderson, Jack Barnhart and Harold Henderson. She was a 1994 graduate of Fairmont High School and received a Bachelor degree from Wright State University in 2004. She was a kind and caring person who loved her family, friends and all animals. A Memorial service will be held for Emily on Monday, February 17 at 7 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home from 5-7 PM prior to the service.
