Ernest J. Napier, age 73 of Beavercreek, passed away July 2, 2014. He was loved by his wife of 50 years, Edna, his children, Denise Oder (Jim), Saundra Napier, and Todd Napier; grandchildren, Eric, Julie, Austin, Rich, Brittany, Ryan, Avry, Emma and Graci, and great-grandchildren Avin and Michael. Ernest is also survived by brothers, Ralph and Tom, and sister Lavelle, as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country from 1959 to 1962. He was a long-time member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. He loved fishing and spending time with this family, especially to reminisce about his childhood. He retired from Delco Moraine after nearly 35 years of employment, and filled his time with vintage westerns, television shows, video games and puzzles. He had a passion for challenges, and couldn’t easily let go of anything that he thought could be fixed or repurposed.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel, with Pastor Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Park. The family will receive visitors before the service beginning at 11:30 a.m.
