Esther Eleanor Joyner (nee Conley), age 80, departed from her earthly home in Beavercreek, OH, to everlasting life on September 18, 2018 after a difficult nineteen year journey with Parkinson’s disease. She was born to Max and Virgie Conley, the seventh of thirteen children, in Collista, KY on October 17, 1937. On November 10, 1956 Esther married Herbert T. Joyner of The United States Air Force. She was a devoted wife and mother to three children as they travelled to England, Turkey, Greece and numerous states while he served his country. Esther loved to garden and spend time with her grandchildren but her greatest achievement while on this earth was when she and her husband accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in Bay City, MI in 1964. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Kettering. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, a sister and daughter-in-law. She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Herbert T. Joyner; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie (Kenneth Jr.) Hunley and Sandra (Doug) Wade; son, Jeffrey Joyner; grandchildren, Leah, Laura, Jennifer, Samuel, Justin, Esther and Libby; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kendrick, Robbie, Gino, Addison, Ava, Brayden, Ezra, Suzy and Astrid; brothers, Robert and Phillip and sisters, Grace and Lois. Celebration service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 3939 Swigart Rd., Dayton, OH 45440 with burial to immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, OH. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service at church on Saturday. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers who helped Esther through this difficult journey. A very special thank you to Kathy from Ellie Home Caring and Cheryl from Hospice of The Miami Valley. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent the First Baptist Church of Kettering (building fund).
