
MULLEN, Eugene Cooper, 85, of Dayton, died Thursday, March 23 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center in Moraine. He was born on January 26, 1932, in Kingston, New York, the son of the late Clarence and Ferna (Van Etten) Mullen.
Gene retired from the NCR Corporation and was a Korean War era veteran in
the United States Marine Corps, and a Marine/Naval Aviator. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Prior to working for NCR, he worked for Price Waterhouse, IBM, and Xerox. He attended Duke University, and earned his Bachelor in Economics from the University of Bridgeport.
Gene attended The Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton, and later Saint
Albert The Great Catholic Church in Kettering. He served as a docent at The National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, sharing his extensive knowledge of all things aviation, and able to give special insight into the particular airplanes there that he had flown. He was a gifted Bridge player, and enjoyed building airplane, ship and tank models. His greatest joy was in spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 40 years, Marian Finn Mullen, who died in November, 2001.

Jennifer Ingerson of Chicago, Ill., Elizabeth (Philip) Marr of Rochester, N.Y.,
Virginia Seubert of Dayton, Ohio, John (Karie) Mullen of Columbus, Ohio and
Robert Alexander Mullen of Cambridge, Ohio; one brother, Capt. Barry
Mullen MC USN RET; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson, as well as
