COPE, Eva Georgetta, formerly of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully in Centerville, Ohio at Bethany Village on Saturday, September 15, 2018. A family memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum. Georgetta was born on April 8, 1934 in Hominy, Oklahoma. She attended St. Mary’s Nursing (Kansas) and while on spring break in Galveston, Texas, her heart was stolen by Edward Cope. Georgetta enjoyed the adventures and travel that came with being an Air Force wife. She was a talented nature painter using porcelain as her medium. She volunteered as tour guide at National Museum of the United States Air Force. Later in retirement, Georgetta and Edward enjoyed many cruises with family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Alonzo Cope, daughter, Leslie Cope and grandson, Mel Tome. She is survived by her son Michael (Adrienne Kreger) Cope, daughter Cynthia (Mel) Tome, grandchildren Eva (Mike) Reudiger , Rosalee Tome, Edward (Katelyn Alegria) Tome, Samantha Cope, Alexander Cope and Jennifer Cope and great-grandchildren, Blaxen and Asa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Art Institute or the National Museum of the USAF.
