Everett Michael Buehner

Everett Michael Buehner passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2015 in Gahanna, Ohio. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late Everett and Velma Buehner on July 14, 1943. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Patricia; his children Andrew (Teresa) Buehner, Rebecca (Darrell) Kirby, Kali Buehner, Karen (Tom) Trenkamp, Walter (Audrey) Kniffin IV, John Patrick (Christan) Kniffin, and grandchildren: Caleb and Evan Buehner; Matthew, Baruch, Joshua, and Kirsten Kirby; Christopher and Steven Kniffin; Tara and Jason Trenkamp, and Ariel Kniffin, his sisters: Leslie Green, Wendy (Craig) Ankeney, and Cherry Buehner, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his infant son Matthew Everett. Mike had a wicked sense of humor and he was a great story teller. He knew no strangers, but had friends everywhere. He was a lover of Santa Claus. Mike was a dedicated member of Civitan, participated in the JayCees, delivered toys and clothes to children in need, and was a committed and frequent ringer of the bell for Salvation Army. Being an avid sports fan for OSU, Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins, and the Reds he coached his children’s soccer and softball teams and was active in swim team and various extracurricular school activities. Mike participated in Indian Princesses and Guides as well as supported his son John Patrick in achieving the Boy Scout Eagle award. He liked playing board games with his grandchildren and would for hours. Mike was an active member of the Episcopal Church serving on vestries and many committees. He was a deeply religious man. Mike retired from GMAC after 35 years. Mike was a very generous, kind man; he is greatly loved and admired in return. He loved his family and his extended family. Funeral service will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 1pm until the time of service.
