It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Feliciano A. Garcia, age 88, known affectionately by many as “Fecing” and by others as “Kenny”. He passed away peacefully Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home. Feliciano was the eldest child of Alfredo and Perfecta Garcia and was born in Tiaong, Quezon province, Philippines on June 9, 1937.
Feliciano received a Jesuit education at Ateneo de San Pablo and thereafter continued his studies under the supervision of the Brothers of the Christian Schools at De La Salle College, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Premed. He finished his medical education under the Dominicans at The University of Santo Tomas in 1966.
Feliciano practiced family medicine in his hometown of Tiaong. In July 1970, he made the fateful decision to immigrate to Dayton, Ohio, as a resident at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he would meet his future wife, Lolita Rana. It was also there where he completed a year-long rotating internship and then a surgical year of residency at Good Samaritan Hospital. In 1972, he started his residency in pathology at the University of Cincinnati and worked in UC’s pathology department from 1976 to 1978, before finally returning to Dayton to help his wife establish her OB/GYN practice. Here he started his own laboratory and worked beside her until they both retired in 2014. He was a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and the Ohio State Medical Board Association.
Feliciano was known for his deep and abiding Catholic faith. He attained the rank of Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and was a daily communicant at Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton. He could often be found praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament or lighting a candle in front of Our Lady. In addition to his faithful love of God, he loved his family, especially his two daughters, Monica and Elizabeth, upon whom he doted and who served as inspiration to open his own medical laboratory so that he would have the flexibility to drop them off and pick them up from school.
Feliciano is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Lolita Rana Garcia, his two daughters Monica (Jeremy) Hoban and Elizabeth (Charles) Aragon and his six grandchildren, Charles “Alex” Aragon, Cian Hoban, Clare Hoban, Luke Aragon, Caitlin Hoban, and James Aragon. He is also survived by six siblings: Natividad Briones (Raymundo); Zosimo (Josefina); Trifonia Gonzalez (Jaime); Susana Cristobal (Nolasco); Alfredo Jr. (Marinella); and Edward (Gina) and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Alfredo and Perfecta Garcia, Feliciano was preceded in death by three of his siblings, Lucita Flores, Dionisio Garcia, and Elisa Sevilla.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Pamela Berridge, Henry and Marivic Dacsil, the Ferri Family (Enrico, Maryl, Rocco, Luca, and Anna), Marinelia Morcilla, Erning Rana, and the countless nurses and other staff that took care of Feliciano during his at-home hospice care. Most of all, there is special recognition for his wife, Lolita Garcia, who dedicated herself tirelessly to care for and attend to him during the entirety of his prolonged illness.
