Fahrig, Ferdinand M. “Bud”, age 90, of Beavercreek, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton, OH the son of Matthew R. and Catherine M. (Walter) Fahrig, who preceded him in death. Bud was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria “Rita” in 1980, three sisters, Catherine Littleton, Dorothy Fahrig and Madonna (Ernest) Ruef, a brother, Charles Fahrig and a brother-in-law, Henny VanOosten, of the Netherlands. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cheryl Fahrig, of Beavercreek; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Bruce Kennedy, of Riverside; two grandchildren, Nick (Emily) Fahrig, of Kettering , Meghan Fahrig, of Xenia; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Fahrig and Els VanOosten. Bud is also survived by numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews. He attended Holy Family Elementary School and was a graduate of Chaminade High School in 1945. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the Battery B 103rd Field Artillery Battalion, 43rd Infantry Division ,during the Korean Conflict in Augsburg, Germany. He retired from General Motors after 46 years of service. The family will receive visitors at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Prayers will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the funeral home . Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday from Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 S. Smithville Road, Dayton, OH 45420, with Father Satish Joseph as the celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery next to his wife, Maria.
