

Kopp, Ferdinand J., age 85, of Beavercreek, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, at The Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton on August 25, 1926, the son of Ferdinand J. and Mary (McGing) Kopp. He served our country as a member of the Merchant Marines. Ferd was the owner of Kopp Heating and Air and he had built many homes in Beavercreek. He was a past President of the Dayton Heating and Air Conditioning Association (DHACA). Ferd enjoyed playing golf and a good game of Bridge and helping others in any way he could. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Bernard) Kopp of 62 years, parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann (Harvey) Ware. Ferd is survived by his children, Becky (Steve) Schwab, Kathy (Ron) Hinch, Margaret (Darrel) Baker and John (Alana) Kopp; grandchildren, Ben (Barb) Schwab, Liz Schwab, Bryan (Hadeel) Hinch, Nickie (Trent) Woodzell, Adam (Anna) Baker and FJ Kopp; great grandchildren, Samantha and Drew Schwab, Keira and Theron Woodzell, Mazen, Jad and Hala Hinch and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his nephew, Bob Bernard for his help in caring for Dad. We would also like to thank Dr. Derksen for many years of excellant care and to The Hospice of Dayton, who provided loving care and comfort to Dad and our family. Prayers will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive,with Father Chris Worland, celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Hospice of Dayton or the charity of your choice.
