OBITUARY

Francoise Marie Couture

July 29, 1942August 8, 2019

Francoise Marie Couture, age 77 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born in Tunis, Tunisia to the late Sauveur and Severine Corso on July 29, 1942.

In 1961, she met the love of her life, Richard Couture, at a USO dance in Monaco. They were married in Nice, France that same year. The newlyweds relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1962 where Richard was stationed in the US Navy. The young couple subsequently relocated to Virginia Beach, Va. where they raised their family. Francoise would later became a US citizen, an accomplishment that made her very proud. Francoise was a stay at home mom and due to Richard’s naval deployments, she sometimes found herself alone with her children for months at a time. As a way to stay busy and make ends meet she began sewing draperies and doing upholstery. It was her love for sewing and creativity that led her to open her own successful business, Chez Francoise Interiors. With this business Francoise was able to use her full creativity and vision to express herself and find much joy in creating beauty for others.

Francoise is survived by her four loving children: Steven (Lisa) Couture, Barbara (Joel) Wourms, Diana (Joe) Bruser and Kimberly (Eric) Neufeld; seven grandchildren: Neil, Nicholas, Matthew, Hannah, Rachel, Aidan and Evan; two great grandchildren Gabryell and Logan; sisters Marinette (Rudy) Duncan and Martine (Anthony) Salerno; brothers Antoine (Michou) Corso and Jean Claude (Monique) Corso; and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will have a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 24th at 11:00 PM at the Church of the Incarnation , located at 55 Williamsburg Lane Centerville, Ohio 45459. Flowers may be sent to the same location.

I have many happy memories of my sister in law Fran. She was so full of life always joyful and her home was always open to me and my family. I loved my visits to Richard and her. I will miss her as I do my brother always.

An excellent woman like Francoise who can find?
Her worth is far above jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
She rises while it is still night
And gives food to her household.
From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She girds herself with strength.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
And her hands grasp the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them.
Strength and dignity are her clothing.
She opens her mouth in wisdom
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
She smiles at the future.
Her husband praises her and
Her four children rise up and bless her.
