Uncle Fred. Just two small words, but oh what they can convey. Today, my beloved Uncle Fred was laid to rest. This is one sentence I never wanted to say in my life time. I realized that he was 84, but in many ways he was always young to me. He was the one I could count on as I grew up. My 2nd father when I had none. I just wanted to share how this one man made me feel loved and how he loved me (and my biting humor). Oh, how we could get each other going talking politics. Like Dorothy of Oz said to the Scarecrow, "I will miss you most of all..."

To my Aunt Patty and Lori. I can feel your pain. He was a larger than life presence. And how he loved you both. I can still see him with Lori when she was riding her horses for show. He jumped in with both feet for his daughter. And had always had the biggest grin. How proud he was of you. Always. That kind of fatherly love and devotion doesn't happen all the time.

As for his wife, Aunt Patty. Not many words are needed. They both loved each other. Thick and thin, right or wrong. There was love. 59 years of Love. Uncle Fred was one of the most liked guys, everyone that met him felt like they knew him for years. You couldn't help but admire him and be glad you were in his company. With his infectious smile and always looking for the good in others. How much he will be missed. Yes, we loss a good man, husband, father, uncle and friend.

Patty & family, just received e-mail from Annette that Fred has gone to live with God and wanted you to know I am thinking of you at this time of your sorrow. Still remembering the visit to you many, many years ago when I was just a young girl and how welcomed and loved I felt from you & Fred. Prayers for God's blessing upon you all at this time. Love you greatly, In HIS Name, Carol (Collier) Caudill, Portsmouth, OH

Dear Aunt Patty and Lori, I wish we could have been there to share this good bye to Uncle Fred. But we know that one day we will have a wonderful reunion. When I think of him, I think about the moment uncle Fred and Aunt Patty led my sister and me to the Lord, our baptism, the day Lori was brought home, oh what a wonderful day. Uncle Fred knew I loved plums, he would always bring me plums. I listened to the tapes they sent me of his teaching his Sunday Adult class...I wonder how many people came to the Lord through their teaching and witnessing. So, Uncle Fred, we will see you soon and oh what a time that will be...Lori, Aunt Patty I love you both dearly. Miss him, but keep looking up. Your niece, Peggy Brown Robinson..
