Fred Vinson Smith, age 93 of Dayton, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Oaks of West Kettering Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Collingsworth-Smith in 1999 and daughter, Cynthia Lambert-Faircloth in 2018. He is survived by his second wife, Wavelene Smith, son Rodney Smith and husband Dana Lakin of West Carrollton, and by three grandchildren: Kim (Mark) Scarlett of TN, Steve Lambert of TN and Adrianna Lakin of Dayton. Three great-grandchildren also survive him: Spencer Lambert, Eli Scarlett and Evan Scarlett. Fred was a US Army Veteran of World War II and retired from General Motors Delco facility as a press operator. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd.
