How to summarize what Uncle Fred meant to me is very difficult. I suppose the best way to say it would be that he was a bonus Dad. He had been a part of my entire life, with the exception of a couple of lean periods. He helped me with understanding and working on cars, got me my first piloting experience in a Piper Cub, helped me with a short term loan to get a house in Colorado, and way too many things to list. We had great times, conversations, and correspondences that I will cherish the rest of my life. He was the last of my “blood related” predecessors. To say he will be missed would be a gross understatement. I can only imagine what a wonderful reunion there was when he went on his way to eternity and got together with his family that had preceded him. For his dear wife that he temporally had to leave behind, I’m here for you in any way I can be. You are part of his family and loved.

I first met Fred the summer of 2001 at the Greene County Airport. I used to love to sit at the hangar with him and talk shop. Many times we spent many hours telling stories. Fred was an amazing, generous and wonderful person. He was always had a smile on his face and ready to trade stories. He will be missed by many.

Fred has  been a dear friend and honored us, at King Veterinary Hospital, with the privilege of caring for his pets over the past 20 years.  Fred demonstrated wonderful stewardship as well as his gentle heart in his love and care for his pets.  I especially appreciated how well he treated my staff and looked forward to our many discussions about his passions for teaching, flying and especially for his love of the Lord!
