I just want you to know we loved the years Gail joined UD Chemistry retiree dinner group.  We still miss you very much.  We aren’t meeting at night now that Al Fratini is in assisted living.  But we do meet Tuesdays at 12:30 for lunch at Panera’’s behind Town and Country.  Sending loving prayers to Gail’s family.

Gail and her husband Bill were two of our closest friends. Both are sorely missed. We both regret not being able to attend the service for Gail but our street is a mess and we have not left the house except to go to the mailbox.  We hope to be able to give our condolences in person.  Tony and Maureen 

Bev and I want to express our condolences for your loss. Gail and Bill were wonderful neighbors at Cumberland and two of the nicest and most generous people you could ever meet. 

The Moddeman family and the Tatem family have been friends for over over 45 years.  In looking back on those 45 years, I have only good memories. I was able to spend a little time with Gail right before Christmas. And the good memories continued.

I graduated with your dear mother from nursing school in 1963. We did keep in touch over the years.  She was a wonderful nurse and great professor.

My husband was a chemist like your dad and they were friends. We are also friends with Ken and Jan Roenker. I know Ken and your dad were cousins. 
Your mom was so proud of her sons. I had the opportunity to meet you both at your dad’s funeral.

I remember Gail as a joyful, positive lady with deep faith.  I am blessed to have known her. With prayers and deep sympathy, Mary Blewett.

I graduated with your dear mother in 1963 from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. We did keep in touch over the years. My husband knew your dad as they were both chemists.

I am also good friends with your dad’s cousin, Ken Roenker, and his wife, Jan. Gail was a great nurse and respected professor.  She was so proud of her sons. I remember meeting you both at your dad’s funeral. Gail was a joyful, positive person with deep faith. I am blessed to have know her.

Thank you Mrs. Moddeman for always being generous with your Cumberland vacation getaway home for us Carroll grads and friends to enjoy. The memories you helped us create at the TCO (The Cumberland Open) guys golf weekend every August will forever be in your honor and Mr. Moddeman’s honor. Your friendliness and interest in my family’s lives every time I would see you at a Carroll sports event, was genuine and much appreciated as you always had a warm and humorous attitude to life. I loved Gail from the first time I met her. I knew I wanted a friendship with her. She was always so real. I have been so impressed with her as she fought her long battle with cancer.  She was so quick with her sincere smile.  She didn’t let her illness stop her from living her big full life.  She is a wonderful example for us all. We will certainly miss her. Like so many students that Gail taught throughout the years, my understanding of caring and how to be a nurse was shaped by her. I was her student in the early 1980s at Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. 20 years later when our paths crossed again as faculty, she immediately knew who I was and "claimed me" as her own.   I will always remember her smile and kindnesses.  Sorry for your loss.

We were shocked to see that Gail had moved on to Heaven yesterday. But everyone knows she has longed to be with
Bill for years.  Our family loved having Bill & Gail living next
door to us in Amarillo.  Gail would come over just to see
the kids after school.  What a wonderful couple!  They loved
their sons so much and then their grandchildren, they couldn't
brag enough.  Gail fought the good fight and we will miss her.

I will always be grateful for Gail's friendship and mentoring. She was a special lady, and very near and dear to my heart as a fellow nurse. We will miss her tremendously here, yet we will celebrate her legacy and rest in knowing she has eternal life in Heaven.

I Praise God for Gail and for all of her support, both as a student, faculty, and colleague. She walked through her trials with grace and strength.  I am so thankful our paths crossed in this lifetime and I am so grateful I had the privilege to know her and work with her. She loved her family and were so proud of each and every one of you. Every time we spoke she would share what each of her beloved family members were up to. Thank you for sharing your precious Gail with all of us!

My Sister… my Role Model….the eldest of four…. How we laughed, played, cried, and prayed together . Faith , Family, and “Becoming” what God intended us to be, were our goals in this journey of life. Service to others, and touching lives, were your gifts back to God. You were my Inspiration and protected me in many ways. From the youngest of four…. Your Baby Sister, Sue Cutler… I love you… Rest in the arms of Jesus.

Rest in peace my sweet friend. You were a great teacher, mentor and friend when I first started teaching at Wright State. I loved listening to your tales, as they always brought a smile to my face and your words of encouragement made me feel at ease about teaching.  These are the memories I will cherish. Prayers for comfort for your family.

Gail was one of my besties. I was blessed to have known her. My heart and prayers go out to her family, sister, and all the nurses who were privileged to have known and worked with her. I will truly miss this beloved treasure. I praise God for creating and sharing her with me.  Peace to her dear family.
