

Gary dedicated 41 years of his life to Dayton Power and Light as an Underground Electric Field Supervisor, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. A devoted family man, he cherished making memories with his loved ones, often centered around his favorite hobbies, which included fishing, working out, lawn care, and playing the Ohio Lottery.
Gary played middle linebacker for Stivers High School, where he was recognized as a two time all city defensive standout, and has continued his support as a member of the Stivers Alumni. Gary continued to be an avid sports fan, and passionately supported the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Gary received the gift of life from an unknown donor when he received a double lung transplant in 2018. Gary’s family would like to acknowledge this beautiful gift of life that allowed him six additional years with us, and thank the generosity of his donor and his family.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, and son, Craig (Amy), his daughter, Leah Frazee (Jeff), and his daughter, Heather Davis (Joey). As well as eight beautiful grandchildren, Jacson. Cetera, Joshua, Cayden, Megan, Maria, Garrett, and Chance. He is also survived by his only living brother, Milford Griffith, as well as many other extended family members and close friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his loving parents, Vernon and Opal Griffith, sister, Patsy, brother, Buddy, sister, Betty, and sister, Bonita. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Gary will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45429, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
