

George W. Cochran, (GW) age 75 of Kettering, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Lima, Ohio to the late Byron Wright Cochran and Laura Mae Johnson. GW is survived by Ema, his loving wife of 52 years; children, Russell (Cindi), Shannon (Jon); grandchildren, Brandon, Alyssa & Nathan Flynn, Allison & Adam Berry. George graduated from Shawnee high school in Lima. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and then served in The U.S. Army. Upon his completion of service he was at the forefront of computer technology working for NCR . He retired from the Kettering Police Dept. in 1994 after 24 years of service. During this time, George had the honor of flying with the helicopter program, leading the S.W.A.T. team and graduating from the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Va. He was very proud to serve his country and later the citizens of Kettering. A procession will gather at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Kettering Police Station on the North side, 3600 Shroyer Rd., Kettering, Ohio 45429, with a graveside service 11:00 a.m. at the Dayton National Cemetery.
