George F Henderson

Henderson, George F. age 84, born in Birmingham, AL on June 23, 1931 went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. George was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rosalind Fay. He is survived by his soul mate and love of his life of 54 1/2 years, Sandra; three children :Teresa Wredberg (James), Sherri Musick (Todd), and John Henderson (Janna) ; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. George was a proud 27 year veteran of the US Air Force. He finished his career as Assistant Director at the Dayton National Cemetery. Additionally he was instrumental in establishing the 1st Dayton Club within the American Volkssport Association (AVA) the Ohio Wander Freunde. He later served the AVA as Regional Director among other positions. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Feb. 11th from 5-8 pm at the Tobias Funeral Home, 648 Watervliet Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420 (Belmont Chapel). The Funeral Service will be held Friday, Feb. 12th (10:30) at the Funeral Home. Pastors Jean and Alan Carroll officiating. Burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society ,Hospice of Dayton or Miami Valley Hospital Ostomy and Wound Care Center.
