He was born on August 14, 1940, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late George Alex Reinhardt and Alberta Wilhelmina Jolly. The oldest of 5 sons, George grew up on a farm in Hamilton County and graduated as Salutatorian from Colerain High School in 1958. He went on to attend The University of Cincinnati and obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. His education continued at The Ohio State University where he obtained his master's degree and PhD in electrical engineering. George worked for Wright Patterson Air Force Base for over 30 years. After retirement, he continued working for Georgia Tech.
George married Joan Ann Kinman on November 7, 1964. They were married for 58 years and enjoyed traveling and raising animals on their small farm.
George had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed attending tractor shows with his brothers and belonged to a local MAC computer club. He always spoke highly of his time spent with the leisure club at St. Luke’s Parish. George enjoyed playing Sudoku and playing Skip-Bo with his grandchildren and his daughter-in-law. He and his wife Joan were very involved in the local 4-H Club as advisors and helped their children and grandchildren build numerous projects.
Aside from his parents and Joan, George is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David.
He is survived by children, Michael (Elizabeth Jackson) Reinhardt, Deborah (Keith) Sharrett, Lisa (Doug) Brungart; grandchildren, Daniel (Jai) Sharrett, Jacob (Britany) Sharrett, Jade Brungart and Violet Brungart; great grandchildren, Deborah Sharrett, Jackson Sharrett, Jonah Sharrett and Larry Jacob Sharrett; brothers James (Carol) Reinhardt and Paul (Nancy) Reinhardt; sisters-in-law, Connie Reinhardt and Sue Reinhardt, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 9:30am to 10:30am at St. Luke Catholic Church (1440 N Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432). Mass will immediately follow at 10:30am, with burial at Calvary Cemetery.
