She was separated from her family and put into Shawn Acres Orphanage at the age of 3 along with her twin brother Gerald Page. Although Gerald remained in the orphanage until the age of 17, Geraldine was soon adopted and they lost contact for many years.
Her life was uncharted until she was put into a group home after living on the streets in the 70's due to her mental afflictions. Caretakers, social workers and group home owners became her family and friends, of which she had many, and for this we are so very grateful. A special "Thank You" to Erika Bales, Mrs Brown and her family for their overseeing that she remained safe and cared for during those
years. Geraldine's last several years were spent at St Leonards Rehab and Rehabilitation Nursing Home where she could be closer to her nieces. As always, she acquired many friends. They, like her group home friends became family to her. She soon became known to all that worked there due to her infectious laughter and smile. Upon her impending death, in addition to some residences at St Leonard's, it was emotionally
overwhelming to witness the tears and sadness of over 50 staff members and her physicians (Coca & Vasiliu) that came in her room and gave
their goodbyes to her in her final hours. To witness this brought us comfort and peace knowing that she was not without love and friendship due to our visiting restrictions.
We are forever grateful and feel blessed for their loving care of Geraldine.
May she rest in peace and be surrounded completely in the love of those who went before her. In lieu of flowers, if desired, please send donations to the "St Leonard's Employee Christmas Fund" in Geraldine's name to:
