Geri is so appreciated for her cooking and baking, especially blonde brownies. She loved painting, drawing, gardening and reading a great book. She appreciated a variety of music and shared these inspirations with us often. Geri was gifted with making those around her feel appreciated and comfortable even amid her own pain. A favorite season was Fall where she was inspired to cook great meals and baked goods, walks in the park such as John Bryan with the leaves changing, watching the Baltimore Ravens football games, connecting and being with family and friends. Geri was a patriot of our great nation growing up in the US Air Force, serving in the US Navy, having a son in the US Navy, three brothers in the US Air Force and US Army, two nephews and grandson in the US Army.
Geri sought our Lord Jesus through encouragement, prayer and establishing a rule of life allowing her to live priorities. Her search for true purpose in recent years through conversations with family led her coming into the Catholic Church on Pentecost Sunday this year, in the months preceding her death. She discovered the astounding love of God, His peace, grace, and joy. Geri chose Saint Joan of Arc as her confirmation name with parallels of courage, perseverance, offering her suffering, pain, life obstacles to Christ, and serving in the military. In her last months, she modeled great perseverance, love, and reconciliation bringing tremendous joy and connection with family in so many ways. We are so grateful to our God, Geri is now united in His perfect love. We look forward to a day when we shall be with her forever, perfectly.
