Glenn was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a friend to so many. He shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Sharon, building a life filled with family, memories, and love.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his two children, Todd and Jill (Oglesbee) Anderson, and Gregg Oglesbee; and his cherished grandchildren, Bryce Anderson, Avery (Kurt) Rembold, and Parker Oglesbee. He is also survived by his sisters, Joanna Rutt and Jane Lewis, and his brother, Richard Oglesbee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Eva (Markley) Oglesbee; his sisters, Ada Callison, Rosemary Ballard, Janet Knox, Linda Davis and his brother, Larry Oglesbee.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army alongside his brother Larry and was a proud Army veteran.
Glenn enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time with family, going on cruises, and traveling. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren, taking them for rides on the four-wheeler and playing with them as much as he could. These moments created memories his family will treasure forever.
Glenn worked at Navistar until his retirement at age 55, forming many lasting friendships with the people he worked alongside. Those friendships, along with the many family members and friends he gathered throughout his life, were a testament to the kind of person he was.
A loyal fan, Glenn proudly cheered on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and Green Bay Packers. He was also affectionately known by the nickname “Flash” a playful name given to him because of his famously slow walking pace. It was a little bit of humor that those who knew him will always remember.
Glenn was a man of few words, but he never needed to say much to make an impression. His presence alone brought comfort, warmth, and joy. He had a way of making people feel at ease, and everyone who met him seemed to love him. His quiet nature, gentle spirit, and love for those around him made him someone truly special.
Though his family and friends are heartbroken by his passing, they will forever hold close the memories, laughter, and love he leaves behind. His life was a gift to those who knew him, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who loved him.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1031, located at 1237 East Main Street, Springfield, Ohio.
In honor of Glenn’s favorite holiday, family and friends are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween attire or fall colors as they gather to celebrate his life, share memories, and remember the man who meant so much to so many.
