

THURMAN, Grover “Friday”, age 87 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. He Grover was born in Blue Diamond. KY to the late Grover Cleveland and Mae (Rogers) Thurman and raised by his beloved grandmother, the late Martha Rogers. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thurman. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Mike Burke of Beavercreek, Becky and Skip Gee of Beavercreek; sons and daughters-in-law, Grover and Sheila Thurman of Houston, TX, Tom and Sheryl Thurman of Xenia, David and Becky Thurman of Bowling Green, KY, William and Shelia Thurman of Beavercreek; sisters, Gloria (Jesse) Woolum of Dayton, Sylvia Mobley Richmond, KY; 13 grandchildren, Melissa Galliger, Angie Hiney, Katie Gee, Butch Snider, Marty Snider, Kevin Thurman, Kayla Thurman, Shannon Bender, Jessie Vincent, Dave Thurman, Aubrey Thurman, Ryan Thurman, Justin Thurman. Grover was a WWII United States Army Veteran who served in three campaigns; Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He retired from G.M. after 30 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. with Pastor Don Payne officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011. Memorial contributions can be given to The Hospice of Dayton.
