Mrs. Culbertson was known for her ready smile, sparkling soprano voice and unwavering faith. She and her husband, the late James William “Bill” Culbertson, were married Nov. 20, 1948. Mr. Culbertson died in 2006. They had three sons: Mark (Shawnee) Culbertson, the late Frank (Rosalina) Culbertson, and Paul (Judy) Culbertson; five grandchildren: Seth and Quinn Culbertson, Kainoa Narikawa, and Tyler and Nathaniel Culbertson; three step-grandchildren: Kyle (Lori), David (Debbie) and Michael Creekbaum; four step-great-grandchildren: Natalie (David) Triick, Krystal (Douglas) Reynolds, Brandon and Joey Creekbaum; and two step-great-great grandchildren: Mackenzie and Hailey Triick. Mrs. Culbertson was the daughter of the late Harry and Elberta Stedman of Beavercreek, and a 1942 graduate of Beavercreek High School where she was co-valedictorian of her senior class. She later graduated from Miami Jacobs Business College, followed by employment as a secretary at Flack Equipment Co. of Dayton. After her marriage, she and her husband lived on the Culbertson family farm near Interstate 75 and Ohio 122 in the Blue Ball/Franklin area. The couple raised their sons on the family farm, where she was active in a number of church and community organizations. They were both long-time members of the Nature Conservancy and Cincinnati’s Wildflower Preservation Society. They eventually sold the farm and moved to Adams County where they lived until Mr. Culbertson’s death. Mrs. Culbertson continued to live at the Adams County residence until 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that individuals give to the charity of their choice. Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M. at Trinity Community and at 6 P.M. at Hawker United Church of Christ in Beavercreek on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
