He was an outstanding bowler and participated in various leagues until his passing. He enjoyed playing cards at the Hithergreen Senior Center and volunteered his time teaching students to play chess at Magsig Middle School in Centerville. Hello,
Hal was a friend of mine. Norma and Hal were in our weekly Thursday small group. Hal was a member of the ministry to men leadership team at Hope UMC.
I knew Hal was a great man but I did know how great! This whole region is a better place to live because of Hal's life.
Hal's life reflects what a great country we are blessed to live in, too.

Doug and Caroline, our sympathies and prayers for you. Your dad and I once took a train ride together and spent 8 weeks together. We were in the U.S.Army basic training together at Ft. Dix, NJ, and rode the train from Ft. Knox to Ft. Dix. Doug, I think you were a classmate of our daughter, Carolyn. Always thought greatly of your dad. I grew up across from the fire station in Farmersville.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I, like so many others, remember him from Emerson Elementary School. Great Principal, from a time when education was all important. Fair but strict was the key to his success, and the reason so many of the students remember him fondly. Prayers for the family.

Mr. Cline was one of my favorite teachers when I was a student at Emerson School. Years later I was a visitor at BHS and was so surprised when Mr. Cline remembered me and an event that took place at Emerson. Rest in peace Mr. Cline. I know my classmates at Emerson, who have remained my friends, never forgot you and the respect we had for you.
