Harriet Ruth Hughes

Hughes, Harriet R. age 100 of Kettering, OH and Palm Gardens, FL passed away July 8, 2011. She was the widow of NCR Vice President Daniel K. Hughes who passed away in 2000. She was a world traveler having crossed the equator three times. She was one of the area’s outstanding golfers and bridge players. She was also a past member of The Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Women’s Club and The Eastern Star Harvest Chapter. Member of Short Hills Garden Club, Moraine, NCR Dayton and Ballen Isles Country Clubs in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Harriet is preceded in death by her sister Margery Seitner. She is survived by niece Marilyn Zimmerman of Florida, loving god daughter Carol Edgington; devoted care giver Brenda Pytel and close friends Vicki Clark, Doris Young and Sandy Ummel; great nieces Brenda Barajas, nephews; Fred & Bernie Zimmerman. She was a kind loving gentle person who never knew a stranger; she had a smile for everyone. Funeral Service 2 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
