Helen Louise Mathews

Mathews, Helen Louise (Katula), age 92 of Dayton passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Heartland of Kettering. Born in Campbell, OH to the late John and Katherine (Furin) Katula, Helen is also preceded in death by her husband Howard Daniel Mathews and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Ginnan of Bellbrook, 2 sons: Howard Michael Mathews of Dayton and Allen Mathews of Tucson, AZ, 3 granddaughters: Heather Eberlin, Tonya Kemble, and Amanda Mathews, 6 great-grandchildren: Ethan Eberlin, Lily, Audrey and Elise Kemble, and Dakota and Isiah Mathews. Helen is also survived by her second family, the staff at Heartland of Kettering, where she resided for the past 12 ½ years. Helen attended St. Barbara Catholic Church. Everyone loved her and will miss her sweet disposition and signature smile. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. with Deacon Vic Hildebrand of Ascension Catholic Church officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Choices in Community Living, 1651 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45414.
