

PHILLIPS, Jack, age 82, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Hospice of Dayton. Veteran of the United States Army, Jack was a gifted mechanical engineer, with several patents to his credit. And was a member of the Engineer’s Club of Dayton. A loving husband, father, patriot, lifetime learner and everyone’s favorite handyman, “Big Jack” spent a lifetime serving his family and friends. No favor asked went unanswered. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Catherine (Webb) Phillips, and his brother Dale Winston Phillips. He is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 57 years Lynn (Stang) Phillips; their son Christopher J. Phillips MD, and their daughter Carla Kay (Phillips) Lane and her husband Mark, grandchildren Ellie Kay (Lane) Gossett and her husband Mike, and Katie Elizabeth Lane, sister-in-law Rena Phillips and extended family and friends.
