James M Allison, son of Delbert and Frieda M Allison, was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 31, 1919. His early childhood home was a broken one, and his mother lost her eyesight and remained blind for several years. Amid the rough surroundings, he had many close calls on his life but he survived and later served in World War ll. Several years after his return, the hand of death claimed his beloved brother Robert and his younger sister, Edrice Joan, as well as both of his parents.
In 1939 he was united in marriage to Alice Gertrude Koon and to this union were born eleven children: Melinda, Rosemary, Jim, Robert, Ralph (Skip), Doug, Deborah, Russell, Timothy, Martha and Donald. At about thirty-five years of age he was converted to God and his life showed a marked change. His faith in Christ sustained him throughout the extended illness and final passing of his dear wife Alice in 1986 and throughout his deep grief over the tragic passing of his son Douglas, his young grandson Jeffery the following year and his first grandson Tomas Burns in 2002
On June 6, 1987 he was united in marriage to Ruth Kathryn Sink. They were members of the Brethren in Christ church. In the providence of a loving heavenly Father, James Allison departed this life on October 9, 2015 at the age of 96 years and 131 days.
He is survived by ten of his eleven children, Melinda Burns, Rosemary Kessler, James, Jr., Robert, Ralph (Skip), Deborah Brown, Russell, Timothy, Martha Allison and Donald. Survivors include the spouses of his children, thirty-two plus grandchildren, and a host of great and great-great grandchildren and many friends who mourn his loss.

“The clock of life is wound but once.
And no man hath the power
To tell just when the hands will stop.
At late or early hour,
Now is the only time you own.
Live, love, toil with a will.
Place no faith in tomorrow
For the hands may then be still”
