Age 88 passed away peacefully on May 31, 2011. He was born on July 9, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Leon and Nora (Brown) Davis. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II with a sense of honor that endured throughout his life. He retired from Delco Products as a tool designer after 41 years of service. Jim also enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, bargain hunting, and long walks outdoors. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth (Johnson) Davis; daughter, Linda (Frederic) Schissler of Westminster, Colorado; grandchildren, Eric Schissler, Bryan (Amie) Schissler, and Jennifer (Aaron) Pendergraft; 4 great-grandchildren; and several other dear relatives. He is preceded in death by his son, Jim Davis. The funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave., Dayton. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery.
