

Paxson, James Edward, age 81 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Tuesday October 28, 2014. He was born December 19, 1932 in Pennville, Indiana to the late Mary and Floyd Paxson. Jim was also preceded in death by his siblings Joann Cook and Janey Nathaniel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jackie (Macbeth); children, Jim Paxson(Courtney), Molly Laravie (Curtis), John Paxson (Carolyn), Michael Paxson (Elizabeth), and Maggie Collins (Spud), brother, Joseph Paxson (Cathy); grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Tanya, Chris, Melissa, Katie, Jacob, Joe, Ryan, Drew, Claire, Riley, and Paxson; great grandchildren; Logan, Michael, Kacie, Malachi, and Ava. He graduated from Springfield Catholic High School Class of 1950 and the University of Dayton Class of 1956. After graduating he played two years of Professional Basketball with the Minneapolis Lakers in 1956/57 and the Cincinnati Royals in 1957/58. Jim was the Vice President of the John L. Macbeth Insurance Agency for 30 years, Associate-Baldwin and Whitney for 5 years, and Director of Athletic Funding, University of Dayton 1990-2002. Jim was an avid golfer, card player, and University of Dayton fan. Visitation will be at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel this Friday, October 31, from 4-8 pm. Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
