Theodoras, James “Jim”, 82, of North Port, FL, passed away at home on January 18, 2018. Jim was born and spent most of his life in the Dayton, OH area: moving to Fairfield Glade, TN in 2001; then North Port, FL in 2005. Jim graduated from Wayne High School, attended Miami University, Night School at NCR, and completed a 4 year Model –Making Apprenticeship at NCR. Jim worked at NCR for 22 years, which involved cash registers, ATM machines, and bar codes systems for products. Jim worked for Mead Technology Laboratories, part of Kodak, which became Scitex. He was with Kodak Industries for 22 years before retiring as Senior Model Maker. Jim is survived by his wife, Rita, of 20 years; his children of his first marriage: Mark Theodoras, Julie Huff, Mary Ann (Frank) Scarpelli, and James (Clara) Theodoras; six grandchildren; step-children John (Kristi) Duffy, and Laura (Rick) Crank, and four step-grandchildren; as well as his sister Melpo (Charlie) Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anna Theodoras; half-brother, Robert Happel; and half-sister, Lois Walthall. In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed waterskiing with his children and bowling in a league. After retirement, Jim became a master craftsman in wood working and built unique items for his home and garden, as well as making special pieces for family members. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2018 from 1-3 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Mass will be held on Thursday at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10am; burial will follow at Mt. Zion Park. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
