Jean Shirley [Laub] Rausch passed away peacefully, on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Jean was born in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Margaret and Carl Laub. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Rausch; her daughter, Cathy Lager; her son-in-law, Fred Lager; her granddaughter, Sara Lager; her brother Jerry Laub and sister-in-law Bernie; sister-in-law Lucille Rausch; nephew Steve Rausch and life-long friends, Chuck and Joan Flaum. She is survived by her son Mike and daughter-in-law Marcia Rausch; her grandchildren, Andy (Dawn) Rausch; Jonathan (Jamie) Rausch; Amy (Art) Bull; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack, Arthur, Charles, Sam, Mick, Finley and Kate; her niece-in-law Christy Rausch; her nephew Dan Laub (Mary Ann); niece Terri Johnting (David) and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the Flaum family—her second family that she loved so dearly. Jean was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School and Miami Jacobs College. She retired from the University of Dayton Registration Department, after a long career working with many wonderful people. “Grandma Jean” was an amazing woman, always positive, smiling and laughing, (her sense of humor was the best.) She made the best coffee cake and cookies—always willing to share them with everyone. She was so loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. We would like to thank the entire staff at Bethany Village in Centerville, Ohio, for their kindness and loving care these past months. There will be a Celebration of Life Service, at Heather’s Café, 505 South Main St, Springboro, Ohio, on June 4, 2025 at 10:30am. Condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
