Jean and I were coworkers at Sycamore Hospital and we forged our special friendship as we worked through our overlapping evening shifts doing ultrasounds. She was a hard worker, honest, dependable, and funny as the night was long! We laughed at life’s trials and tribulations, and we helped each other find the laughter in our problems, not so much the answers, which somehow made the situation all the more hysterical! Yeah... sometimes we were , “ a hot mess!” When I returned to Ohio, after a two year absence while helping my brother thru his cancer journey, I was saddened to hear that Jean’s cancer had returned. With the help of Jean’s caring family and friends, the wagons were circled, and Jean dove head on into her treatment. What a strong woman! I never once heard her complain, cry poor me, or get bitter. Her only sadness, came when she spoke of her children, how much she loved them, how she worried about them. Her incredible strength carried her with grace and dignity throughout her cancer fight. She remained beautiful till the end. I am so proud, so honored, to be Jean’s friend, and like we always said to each other, “I’ll be seeing you.” Love you Jean!

I feel very blessed to be able to call Jean a true friend! I’ve had the pleasure of having this amazing lady in my life since day 1 of the sonography program! Jean is one of the strongest people I have ever meet. I will miss her very much but at the same time I feel the need to celebrate the fact that my friend is at peace and is no longer suffering. She will always stay in my heart and I look forward to the day I see her again! I love you Jean!!

What can I say. Sweet, fun loving, caring. Loved to talk about her kids and how much she loves them. That’s right I wrote she loves them not loved (past tense) because even thought her body is not present her spirt will live on and she will watch over all her family. Fly high my friend with those beautiful wings you have earned.
