December, 1951- July, 2020
Prince Charming aka Jeff Brown moved into the heavenly castle on July 6, 2020. He was a man of integrity, love, and kindness. His strong faith in God powered him through life. He treasured his wife and kids, encouraging each of them to find their path in life.
This self-proclaimed “shy country boy” was born in Leipsic, Ohio. He plowed his way into the hearts of many with his frequent greeting of “Hello, Friend” and his genuine interest in others.
Jeff loved the whole process of construction; from the hole in the ground, to the drawings, the resurrecting of the building, all the way to completion. He was VP of Construction for Elder-Beerman, RavenRock Workwear, and Burlington Coat Factory. Always one to enjoy a challenge, Jeff completed his Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from Capital University, while working full-time and raising three kids. Jeff was not one to be idle, his retirement job was an estimator for BCS (Boxley Contracting Services).
Jeff was active in his churches, Epiphany Lutheran, Centerville, OH (1990-2006); Hope Methodist, Voorhees, NJ (2009 – 2013); and Fairhaven Church, Centerville, OH (2014-2020). He was also a member of the Centerville Noon Optimist Club.
His wife Pam treasures a marriage that dreams are made of with her Prince Charming. One full of love, fun, laughter, and support.
His children learned so much about life from him. How to be kind to others and meet them where they are, how to build roots and wings, how to work hard, the value of unconditional love and the importance of being imaginative and goofy sometimes.
He battled cancer for four years and during that time continued to be a role model of how to love and fully live life, even during the toughest challenges. His family is grateful for these extra years with him, when he was able to take a road trip to California with Pam and his son Adam, visit his daughter Kait and her husband in Argentina and give a speech at their wedding. He was able to celebrate his son Aric becoming a father, and adored his first grandchild Macen, teaching him how to read with his toes. Most importantly, he and Pam were able to cherish thousands more hugs and moments together. In his last few months he began learning to create stained glass art and completed his masterpiece, “Valley of the Dreams” that symbolized the place of each of our unique dreams that he frequently spoke about with his family.
Welcoming Jeff at the Pearly Gates of Heaven are his dad Robert Brown and mom Kathleen (Clement) Brown, big brother John Brown; Bill Westrick and Gary Weinandy, brothers- in-law; and nephew Andy Fox, plus many other extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His legacy will live on through Pam (Strother) Brown, his wife of 40 years, his children and their families: Kait Brown and husband Daniel Fernandes; Adam Brown; Aric Brown and Kaitlyn and grandson Macen Brown. He is loved by his siblings and their families Kay Brown; Susan and John Staley; Sandy Westrick; Phyllis and Alan Schecklehoff; Joyce Weinandy; Greg and Cindy
Brown; Tom and Annette Brown; and Robyn and Joe DeMay; and dozens of nieces and nephews and extended family.
