Joe Marvin Burton

Burton, Joe M., 80, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011. He was born in Seco, Letcher Co., Ky, on March 28, 1931 to parents Marie and Tony Burton. He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved grandmother Eva Collinsworth who raised him and his siblings after the untimely deaths of his parents. He is also preceded in death by his brother Jack Burton and sister Gladys Williams. He is survived by his wife Gerema Rogers Burton, brother Winford “Bill” Burton of Dayton; 2 step-sons and wives, Herbert Head Jr. and Connie, Steve Head and Carolyn; 2 step-grandsons Herbert Head III and Steven Head. Joe was a veteran of the Korean War and a longtime member of Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Dayton, Ohio. His favorite pastime was reading the Licking Valley Courier and listening to gospel bluegrass. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. Pastor Tim Livingston officiating.
