John Paul Collins

Collins, John Paul, age 86, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Kettering Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gussie Collins and a sister, Leona Uhlig. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Patsy; daughters, Susan (John) Jung and Barbara (Larry) Lemire; 4 grandchildren, Melissa (Johnathon) Stidham, John (Erin) Collins, Kevin Spencer, Megan Lemire; 6 great-grandchildren, Miranda, Zachary, Abigail, Nathaniel, Hudson, Nolan, niece Cheryl (Keith) Kershner and many family and friends. He was a Bricklayer for 64 years before retiring from F.W. Schaeffer in 1990. He was also a member of Bricklayers Local # 22. John was a member of the Calvary Grace Brethern Church. He loved to travel, woodworking, gardening, and beekeeping. Friends may call from 9-11 am Saturday January 17, 2015 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Interment in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Funeral Service 11 am Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Kidney Foundation.
