John Cavedon Haufe, Jr. was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 7, 1947, and died on January 24, 2022. He was a graduate of Dayton-Chaminade, and Ohio University. He was a kind and always considerate gentleman.
John loved playing & watching basketball. He was a longtime member of the "Wonderly Park Wonders" and "Kettering Rec. Center gang". He was also a huge fan of the UD Flyers.
John loved music. He was an authority on the recordings of his friend Gene Pitney.
He was a scholar on the history of Classics Illustrated International Series. Because of his research and expert editing skills, his collections and writings will be preserved in an academic library. He was always generous with his knowledge and time on the subject.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosemary Haufe. He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his brothers Mark of Kettering, Michael (Marilyn) of Columbus., and nephews William of Chicago, and Thomas of Evansville, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, Ohio 45429, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
