John “Kerry” Noble, 64, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on 18 October 2019. He was born 1 March 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late G. Rex Noble and Mary Jayne (Wilkins) Popp. He graduated from Zanesville High School in 1973 and attended The Ohio State University. He was a member of the 3-man national championship archery team at the University of Akron, went to the Olympic trials in archery and graduated from Akron with a commission in the US Air Force in 1979. He was an Aircraft and Munitions Maintenance/Safety Officer and served in Illinois, California, Florida, Oklahoma, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy and Korea and separated from the service as a captain. He was a member of the Air Force Skeet Shooting Team and shot in the Olympic trials. His passion for shooting came out as he taught shotgun, rifle and pistol techniques to young and old. He studied at Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon and graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Muskingum College. He developed a love for whole grain baking, learned to mill flour and made the most delicious breads, cookies and cakes you’ve ever tasted. He directed a ministry called The Brick Oven that provided whole grain products, nutrition education and charitable assistance for the Dayton area. He was active at Kittyhawk Chapel at Wright-Patterson AFB, where he fed Airmen and members of the congregation, never met a stranger, and generally served where he was needed. He loved God with all his heart and loved his family fiercely.
Kerry is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Ellen, sons, John and Ben (Maggie), and siblings, Randy, Charles and Kimberly Noble. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Life Enrichment Center, 45 N. Findlay St, Dayton, OH 45404.
