

RUPPERT, John, age 90, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Ann Ruppert; son, Richard H. Ruppert; granddaughter, Consuela Mardis; his parents, Peter & Margaret Ruppert; and 2 brothers, Peter and Albert Ruppert. John is survived by his 2 daughters and son-in-law, Shirley & Carl Sparks (Gary Knight) of Moraine and Karen Lightcap (Travis & Ralph) of Dayton; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John & Paula Ruppert (Shelli & J.J.) of Dayton, Gene & Wanita Ruppert (Tara Ackley & Michelle Smith) of Tipp City and Kenneth & Vickie Ruppert ( Jamie Osterfeld & Tessa Ruppert) of Beavercreek. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. John was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9927. He retired from NCR after 37 years of service. He was a very loving, devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Special consideration to all of his caregivers. Visitation will be held at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Belmont Chapel, Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 6-8pm. Services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10am at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet and Fauver, with Chaplain John Arnott officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in John’s memory to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Drive, Dayton, OH 45458.
