Joseph M. "Joe" Orihood

ORIHOOD, Joseph “Joe” 88 of Brookville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 29, 2023. Joe was born February 6, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Stephen and Caroline (Messick) Orihood. Also preceding him in death are his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy (Elliott) Orihood in 2013 and his daughter Debra Schneider in 2016.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory, son Mike (Theresa Siefert) Orihood, grandchildren Sam Williams, Sean Schneider, Natalie Byrd, Maggie (Josh) Beam, Nick Orihood, great-granddaughter Cameron. Also surviving are his brothers, Jim Orihood, Stephen “Skip” Orihood, Ken (Tanya) Orihood, nephews Steve (Brienne) Orihood, Chad (Dani) Orihood, nieces Lisa (Dean) Wright, Kelly (David) King, Ann Erbaugh, son-in-law Chris Schneider, numerous cousins and friends.

Joe was a 1953 graduate of Fairview High School, a US Navy veteran serving in the Korean War on the USS Ross, and was retired from the Montgomery County Sheriff Department after 23 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, golf and especially his family.

Joe’s family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton – Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Saturday, November 11 starting at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 12:00 pm with his brother Pastor Ken Orihood presiding.
