Judith S. Cummings, age 76 of Beavercreek, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. Judy was born in Irvine, KY, and grew up in Miamisburg, OH. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Cummings, and her parents, Raymond Cox and Eldora Buchanan. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Merle Cummings, and her children: Greg Cummings (Peggy) of Caesar Creek Township, and Michele Feck (Steve) of Amelia. Three loving grandchildren survive her: Scott (Hoda) Cummings of TX, Corey Cummings of Kettering and Emily Feck of Amelia. She is also survived by a sister, Vickie Cox of Beavercreek, and two sisters-in-law’s, Joyce Clarke and Barb Bettinger, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy was a 20-year heart transplant recipient. Because of this enormous gift, Judy was able to enjoy a rich life with her friends and family. She was an advocate for organ donation, and spent many hours volunteering and educating people about the practice. Judy was very involved with Life Connection of Ohio and American Heart Association.
Judy’s other passions were her family and friends, whom she treasured greatly. Everyone who knew and loved her will remember her kind heart and warm hospitality; she loved entertaining, and she especially delighted in making holidays special.
Judy worked many years for the Kettering City Schools, and later worked until her retirement as a procurement clerk at DESC.
